Mountain Living and the New Rustic Style

Looking @ style shifts in the Modern Mountain Home

Living in the Blue Ridge Mountains, we have a strong culture of home building and design. Anything you want seems to be possible with talented builders, craftmen, and artists. After working in this field for the past 16 years or so I’m seeing a shift happening in the style of the new Mountain Home, here is what we’re excited about @CG Interiors…

Design by Fiona McLean

A limited, organic materials palette are stunning in this open living plan.

Design & Home of Architect Mathias Brockdorff

Vintage Danish desk and chair with Douglas fir walls and floors. Notice the matte, clear finishes and the cozy, minimal mood.

Bathroom Designs by Amber Lewis

Reclaimed materials done with amazing refinement.

Design by Studio Shamshiri

A limited color palette and clearly defined mood makes this eclectic mix of tradiitional and modern work beautifully.

Design by Ken Fulk.

A fresh fresh take on traditional mountain home motifs.

Design by Jane Hallworth & Kirstin Dunst.

So charming. Natural edge table and stools with a warm tone on tone color palette.

The new rustic is perfectly imperfect. Preference for simple, honest finishes. A focus on texture and hand made looks. A mix of old and new. Less brown. More Light.

We’re in.
