Why I love Interior Design

Interior Design is an amazing tool for accomplishing lifestyle goals and improving daily life.

My name is Kim, I’m an interior designer with Common Good Interiors. I’m also an artist with Mabel Studios, a creative workshop I run with my husband Paul. I would love to share my personal creative project with you, a remodel of our showroom and studio space in our personal home.

Before: Gallery Space Mabel Studios

Before: Gallery Space

The space is dark, noisy, and out of harmony. Nothing ever sits in one place for too long, rarely looks orderly.

When entering the space from outside the first thing you see is the big sliding door that leads into our living space. We needed proper stairs and a happier color palette to create the welcoming feeling we were after. We didn’t want to part with our beloved wood burning stove so we just gave it some much needed simplification.

Planning Stages:

After: Gallery Space

A cleaner, brighter, more organized space. Everything is in its place and my mind is at rest.
